Enjoy Malaysia visa-free travel

If you are an Indian passport holder, there’s a New Year special gift awaiting you in the form of visa-free travel to Malaysia.

From 1st January 2020 up until the 31st December 2020, Indian passport holders can now travel to Malaysia for a period of up to 15 days without a visa.

The decision comes as an effort to increase tourism sustainability, and to open its doors for tourists to explore the country’s arts, culture, and hospitality. This comes as a product of the Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad launching the Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020) initiative, aiming to achieve 30 million international tourist arrivals in 2020.

According to this rule, citizens of India and China are exempt from getting a tourist visa for up to 15 days. All the Indian traveller needs to do is to register at the eNTRI (electronic Travel Registration and Information) system. The registration can be done by the applicant themselves, or they can approach a travel agency for the service.

Upon successfully registering, travellers can then visit Malaysia in the next 3 months, following which they will be able to stay in the country for up to 15 days. Although, they will be required to carry a valid passport and a round trip flight ticket while travelling. To top it all, travellers can re-enter the country after 45 days from the date of exit from Malaysia.
