Before going ahead with the extension of the visa, you must have a valid reason for the visa extension. The process to extend your visa is online. The processing of the application will take time, meanwhile, you will receive an email from the authority that will contain a confirmation number and a password so that you can check the status of the process.   • Approved: This means that the documents are complete and the application has been verified. You can now move forward with the payment of the rest of the fee and the interview for final verification.
  • Required: This is where the Visa Internal Work Group Office is going to require the missing documents or any information that is lacking from the application. The further approval process will begin only after the missing items are provided.
  • Inadmissible: There are certain documents that you need to provide mandatorily at the time of application. If the important documents are lacking and are not being provided in time, the application becomes inadmissible. You will have to apply again.
  • Rejected: If there are any faults or the requirements are not filled properly or for any other reason the Colombian Government decides to not accept the application, it is marked as rejected. You can apply again after serving a penalty of 6 months. 



Can Indians have a visa on arrival for Columbia?


Indians do not have a visa on arrival for Colombia. However, if as an Indian you a holder of a Schengen visa, US visa or any other relevant category,  you would not require any visa to enter Colombia. The stay allowed in such case is for 90 days. It may be extended as well.
