You can extend the Ethiopia tourist permit easily. You must visit the Head Office of the Department for Immigration and Nationality Affairs in Addis Ababa and apply for an extension. If you are rejected, you must leave the country in order to avoid any penal action and fines.
After expiring your tourist permit, you cannot stay in the country any longer. If you do require to stay, you must apply for an extension. Staying back in the country after expiry and without a proper extension is considered as an offence and can lead to fines and other penal actions.
As per the rules, there are no mandatory medical test requirements for the tourist e-visas. Although, in order to be on the safer side, it is highly recommended that you get vaccinations done and complete a routine test medical check-up before travelling to Ethiopia.
No, it is not permitted or possible to convert the tourist permit into a work permit. You are also not allowed to work while you are on this permit. If you do require to work, you must apply for a work permit once you are back in our home country.
Due to the lower cost of living in Ethiopia, there is no particular requirement for a bank statement. As a result, you do not necessarily need to prove that you have a certain amount of funds. However, it is advised to ensure that you have enough funds to support your entire stay duration in the country.
