Peru Business Visa for Indian Citizens: Everything You Need to Know
Got business in Peru? Maybe meetings, deals, or a conference?
Peru's economy is getting bigger, and it's connecting more with the world, making it a great place for business. Strategic location, and expanding global ties, Peru is fast becoming a hotspot for international business. Whatever your reason, if business is taking you to this beautiful South American country, you’ll need a Peru Business Visa- unless, of course, you already hold a valid visa for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, or Schengen countries (more on that later).
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete Peru business visa process for Indian citizens, from eligibility and documentation to costs and timelines. Let’s make it as stress-free as possible.
Who Needs a Business Visa?
If you’re an Indian passport holder and plan to visit Peru for business purposes, especially to sign contracts, you must apply for a business visa unless you already have a valid US, UK, Canada, Australia, or Schengen visa (with at least 6 months’ validity). In such cases, a visa to Peru is not required.
This visa is mandatory during your stay. It's not something you can skip or get on arrival- Peru doesn’t issue visas at the airport.
Documents Required
This part might feel a little paperwork-heavy, but getting it right the first time saves you a ton of time later.
To apply for a Peru Business Visa, you'll need to gather and submit the following documents:
- Passport valid for at least six months after your intended arrival in Peru.
- Photocopy of your passport (front and back).
- Two filled (DGC 005) application forms- typed or handwritten in block letters.
- Three recent passport-size photographs (4.3 x 3.5 cm) with white background (face covering 70–80% of photo).
- Copy of your Aadhar Card.
- Cover letter signed by you.
- Apostilled invitation letter (in English or Spanish) from your business associate in Peru, sent directly by email or fax to the Embassy.
- Company letter mentioning company profile and applicant’s purpose of visit.
- Letter from a recognized local chamber of commerce (FIEO, FICCI, APEDA, ASSOCHAM, PHD, etc.) validating the company's registration details.
- Proof of your company’s registration.
- Personal bank statements from the last 3 months.
- Latest income tax return (1 year).
- Salary slips from the past 6 months.
- Round-trip flight reservation to Peru.
- Hotel booking/reservation for your stay in Peru.
If you're a citizen of Bangladesh, Nepal, or Sri Lanka, you must also provide a police clearance certificate.
Submission Process
Once your documents are in place, here’s how to officially kick off the process.
- Submit your complete visa application at the Embassy of Peru in New Delhi between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday to Friday (except on government holidays).
- After your submitted, complete visa file is accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to schedule your personal interview at the Embassy.
- Incomplete applications or standalone documents sent via email/courier are not considered.
Processing Time
- Indian nationals: 7-10 working days after the interview (counted after the personal interview).
- Non-Indian nationals: may take 10 additional days (approx).
Keep in mind, the processing time is an estimate and may vary slightly. The Embassy may request additional documents based on your application. While submitting a complete file improves your chances, each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure all criteria are met.
Validity of the Peru Business Visa
Your Peru business visa will be:
- Valid for 183 days (3 months) with multiple entries. (Note: The decision will depend on the authorities.)
- Once issued, you must enter Peru within six months of issue, or the visa will expire.
Visa Exemptions: Who Doesn’t Need a Peru Visa?
If you’re an Indian citizen holding valid visas for the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or the Schengen area (with at least 6 months validity), you do NOT need a separate visa for Peru- even if you haven’t used that visa yet!
However, you still need to carry it with you, and make sure it's valid through your entire stay.
Additional Notes
Here are a few final things to keep in mind that could save you from a hiccup down the line.
- Visas are only processed at the Embassy in New Delhi- Honorary Consulates in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bangalore do not process visa applications.
- Peru does not issue business visas on arrival.
- Submitting fake documents can lead to serious legal trouble under IPC Sections 463 & 465. Always go the legit route.
