The time taken to process the Irish business permit depends on the number of entries, the volume of applications at the embassy, as well as on your previous travel history. It is not possible to extend the Irish business permits in almost any of the circumstances. However, in certain extreme cases such as sickness of the visitor, or other humanitarian reasons, the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service may grant you an extension. In all other cases, you must leave the country.
Upon expiring your business permit, you are not allowed to stay back any longer. Being a short term category, these do not have a permitted stay back period. As a result, you must leave the country on or before the date as stamped in your passport. Staying back after this is considered as an offence and can get you deported.
Being a type of the short term ‘C’ category, there are no medical tests mandatory for the Irish business permit. However, you may require it for the long term categories. In either case, it is recommended that you get a medical certificate stating that you are in good health before travelling to a foreign nation.
It is not possible to convert any of the short term permits into another. However, you are allowed to work for a duration of up to 14 days, provided that you get prior permission. If you do require to obtain a work permit, you must return back to your home country and the obtain permission to work from the Immigration Service and apply for the work visa.
There is no fixed amount that is required for you to be able to apply for the business permit. As per the embassy regulations, you must be able to prove that you have enough funds to cover the entire duration of stay. Moreover, you are also required to have steady bank transactions.
