The Romanian permit is issued by the Embassy of Romania in New Delhi. However, you will have to make the application on the online portal. You must then submit it to the embassy. You can submit it in person or you can send the application through a travel agency.
It is not possible to extend the Romanian permit under normal circumstances. However, in certain extreme cases such as a Force Majeure or other humanitarian reasons, you may apply for an extension. In all other cases, you will have to leave the country upon expiry.
As per the requirements, there are no medical requirements for the short term categories. However, certain other categories may require you to get a medical test done. Although, you must possess medical travel insurance to make an application. In either case, it is suggested that you get a medical test done before travelling to a new country.
As per the embassy regulations, you are expected to possess at least 50 Euros for every day of your stay. However, the total amount in your bank must also be greater than 500 Euros. Apart from this, it is also necessary that the transactions must be steady.
Since the processing time for the permits is usually around 15 working days, it is mandatory that you apply at least 90 days before your date of intended travel. However, the embassy does not allow you to apply more than 3 months before your date of expected travel.
