Romania Student Visa - Definitive Guide

The Romania student visa for Indian citizens is an endorsement that lets Indian students enter the country for study purposes. Being a long term permit, these are issued for a stay duration longer than 90 days, depending on the length of the program. Now, the study purposes can be to enrol in an academic course, travel as a part of student exchange programs, or even to take up unpaid research/training activities.

The application for the Romania student visa for Indians is done similar to the application for the short-term categories. Before starting the application, you must ensure that you are eligible to travel to the country on the student permit. After that, you can proceed to make the application as follows - 

1. Acquire all the documents needed for the application, as well as get scanned copies of those.

• A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the country.
• 2 photographs meeting the specifications. 
• Proof of acceptance for studies (for academic programs).
• Proof of sufficient funds such as bank statements.
• Proof of payment of tuition fees.
• Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).
• Professional training agreement (for training).
• Travel medical insurance.

• Facial hair - permitted

The time taken to process the Romanian student visa application is around 15 working days after you submit it at the embassy. However, it can vary significantly based on several factors including the volume of applications at the embassy, your previous travel history, the authenticity of your documents and so on. It can also take quite some time for getting the invitation approved. As a result, ensure that you apply well in advance. However, you will be able to apply only after you have paid the fees and have been confirmed with a place on the educational program/training.
